Ski tourers, freeriders and alpine runners have been appreciating Dynafit equipment and apparel for many years. What’s so special about Dynafit bindings, clothing or shoes and what is its„spirit“? Let us shine a light in our Dynafit brand portrait. Continue reading
The first thing that comes to mind when one thinks of Dynafit is more than likely, its one particular piece of equipment: tech bindings (or pin bindings) are ingenious, lightweight alpine touring bindings that rely on two sets of precision-machined pins to hold the toe and heel of your boot in place. Let the success story of the Dynafit tech bindings begin …
Dynafit however has much more to offer than just bindings. For those out and about in the mountains, back country or in alpine terrain, regardless of the season, will find the precise equipment and clothing to match the activity!
Dynafit: The test phase
Dynafit doesn't sit around twiddling its thumbs, it's a definite hands-on company - especially in the Dynafit Center of Excellence, where products are intensely discussed and tested. Bindings and boots from the TLT series are among the best that can be found on the global market. This is accredited to Dynafit's unique "spirit, passion for mountain and alpine sports and the pursuit of the best products to match”, explains Dynafit's Marketing Manager Johanna Swatosch. She goes on to say that; "at Dynafit we see mountain sports as athletic. Light equipment means being able to make a quick pace up and back down a mountain easier and this is noticeable in every Dynafit product."
Functionality from head to toe - that's what makes Dynafit stand apart. | Photo: Dynafit
Important, explains Johanna further, is that the cooperation with Dynafit athletes is already formed at the development phase. Prototypes need to be tested extensively: "In winter, Toni Palzer is tester number one for the racing domain, as are Beni (Boehm), along with Schorsch (Nickaes) or Hoji (Eric Hjorleifson)” . Athletes and developers all with the same goal - to improve and make a product even better. What can be better than that!
Enthusiasm from head to toe
If you spend a lot of time in the mountains, you not only want safe and light equipment, but also functional clothing, The Dynafit approach of "living ski touring from head-to-toe” will certainly ring true for passionate ski tourers that demand functional clothing for comfort for both the ascent and descent. Until recently, there was little in the way of specialised ski touring apparel - one of the reasons why Dynafit developed insulation jackets, flexible touring pants and lightweight backpacks specifically for ski touring. Of course, in addition to Dynafit ski touring clothing and gear is its famous matching ski boots and bindings.
Not just for winter: Dynafit alpine running
For those that like running up a mountain without snow. Dynafit brought out a few years ago its alpine running series. | Photo: Dynafit
As mentioned, Dynafit became known for its ski equipment. However in 2012 a summer collection for all mountain and alpine runners was brought onto the market. Obviously a logical decision, after all, who runs up a mountain in winter right? For that precise reason, Dynafit created shoes and clothing in all forms for alpine running. "But of course, we developed and designed for all runners across the board" notes Johanna Swatosch, "For flatter regions, hilly areas, a challenging forest trail, running on gravel and meadows - it's all so much nicer than running on paved roads."
Where's Dynafit heading next?
Experts in ski touring and alpine running - where will Dynafit go from here? "We specialise," explains Swatosch, "in ski mountaineering and mountain running. This allows us to deal more intensively with each and every individual product, so that the best outcome is assured with a smaller range of products. It is precisely designed by athletes for athletes," Continuous and growing development is guaranteed. This is sure to please Dynafit fans!
