Innovation center from Peak Performance: Åre
Åre, the Swedish skiing mecca, is a small village, yet it made Swedish and international skiing history. The ski boom reached its first major peak here in 1986. In this very year, three ski enthusiasts meet who could not be more different: Professional skier Stefan Engström, Peter Blom, the editor-in-chief of Sweden's biggest ski magazine of those years, and designer Christer Mårtenssen. Their common theme: Why can't you buy your dream ski clothing anywhere? It should be of high quality and functionality and simultaneously simple yet attractively designed. At least as much on their minds is the question: What can you do to make sure you never miss a snow day in Åre? The solution to both problems was that they founded the Peak Performance brand and produced clothing for themselves and their friends in this small mountain village in the Jämtland region. What was planned as a small business developed rapidly and, thirty years later, has long since grown into an international company.Peak Performance - urban active
Peak Performance produces functional, high-quality, exclusive ski and sportswear today. The ski jackets and ski pants have become cult products. The design continues to reflect the Scandinavian fashion maxims: simplicity, elegance, and functionality. However, the product range is not limited to winter sports. It has been significantly expanded over the years: In summer, golf and running wear are also produced, and year-round training wear is in the active line. Peak Performance can, therefore, offer a collection that covers the whole year. In addition to ski clothing, Peak Performance has a trekking collection with technical materials for the summer. Well-known Peak Performance ranges include the Frost series and the Black Light collection for all runners and walkers. An urban line has also been added to the pure sports collection. This brings a slightly funkier après-ski character to the city, mixing the sport-oriented and urban aspects of the lifestyle concept without forgetting the brand's origins. Elevation, quality, and durability are also the main aspects of the collection here.Sustainability at Peak Performance
Sustainability and animal welfare are top priorities at Peak Performance. Mulesing is prohibited in wool production and live pluckingand stuffing in down production are prohibited. Animal products from farms for which rainforest has been cleared are also taboo.
Membership of numerous organizations ensures the avoidance of toxic chemicals and high social standards. However, the great durability of Peak Performance clothing makes the biggest contribution. The Peak Performance repair service also ensures sustainability directly for the customer.
