Assist Belay Resistor Belay Device

<p>The Mammut Assist Belay Resistor was specially developed for situations in which there is a significant weight difference between the leader and the belayer. The compact, 220 gram lightweight device is attached to the first quickdraw and ensures increased rope friction without impairing dynamic belaying.</p> <p>The patented cam design is only activated when required, i.e. in the event of a fall or during lowering. The rope is not completely blocked, but slowed down in a soft and controlled manner. This enables smooth rope guidance, comfortable handling and a safe, dynamic fall arrest - even with heavier loads from heavier climbing partners.</p> <p>One particular advantage is the boost mode: if the device is attached directly to the first bolt with a locking carabiner, it responds earlier and increases the <strong>permitted weight difference</strong> from 35 kg to up to 50 kg. This significantly reduces the risk of falling to the ground on the first intermediate belay.</p> <p>Once activated, the Assist Belay Resistor can be easily released again and is compatible with <strong>single ropes from 8.7 to 11.0 mm</strong> in diameter. The compact construction and robust design make it the ideal addition for ambitious rope teams where there is a large weight difference - whether on the rock or in the hall.</p>
